Wulfka is Closing
Thanks for 12 dream-fulfilling years. I have loved every pop-up, every customer who found clothes they love, every day I got to design and sew in my own studio. It has been a privilege and a joy.
While the business was profitable, I was never able to build it to a comfortable size. I never found the time or money to step away from the sewing machine and pursue more wholesale accounts, advertise to reach a wider customer base, or truly break into the plus size market. I had to admit to myself that my growth had stagnated and I was not building a financially stable future. It’s time to move on.
But wait, this story has a happy ending! I’ve accepted a job as Senior Patternmaker for the legendary Chicago designer Maria Pinto. I’ll get to join a fabulous team, continue creating garments that I believe in, and have financial security and available weekends. I'm leaving one dream behind, but I'm walking right into a new one!
The folks who supported Wulfka are the most civic-minded, well-informed, deeply interesting and passionate people I have ever had the privilege to meet. It has been the pleasure of a lifetime to go on this adventure with you. Please continue shopping small & sustainable. You are appreciated more than you can know.
