Our Winter Fabrics

Our Winter Fabrics

I only use sustainable fabrics in my designs: 94%+ plant-based fibers (because they're better for the environment and better for you!) with an emphasis on Organic and Oeko-Tex Certified.

French Terry

Oeko-Tex Certified 66% Tencel Lyocell, 28% Organic Cotton, 6% Spandex

Deliciously cozy and endlessly washable, the french terry will keep you warm and cuddly all winter! French terry has a smooth face with tiny loops on the inside. The loops create an insulating layer just like the fuzzy side of fleece, but doesn't pill.

Oeko-Tex Certified (nothing nasty in the dyes or finishes!) and made from Tencel (rayon from ethically harvested beech trees in a closed-loop manufacturing process) and organic cotton make a snuggly layer that's better for you and better for the planet.

Corduroy and Hickory Stripe Denim

97% Cotton, 3% Spandex

Hearty workman's fabrics that get better with age. Both corduroy and hickory stripe ("strong as hickory") denim became popular in factories and railroads in the 1800s. Durable fabrics that wash well, that soften and break in with each wear, were perfect for long, rough work days.

These fabrics are beloved by sustainability enthusiasts for their long life and personality. 3% spandex adds a little stretch for wear-all-day comfort.

Luxe Sweater Knit

Oeko-Tex Certified 66% Tencel Lyocell, 28% Organic Cotton, 6% Spandex

I've been using this lightweight sweater knit for years because it's so soft it will make you melt, it looks polished and sophisticated, and it ticks all of my favorite sustainability boxes: Oeko-Tex Certified (nothing nasty in the dyes or finishes!) and made from Tencel (rayon from ethically harvested beech trees in a closed-loop manufacturing process) and organic cotton. Sound familiar? It's made in the same mill as my french terry!

Bamboo

Oeko-Tex Certified 66% Rayon from Bamboo, 28% Organic Cotton, 6% Spandex

Bamboo rayon is a very fine fiber with a silky feel and fantastic breathability. These fabrics wash well and feel luxe on the skin. The lightweight tee knit has micro stripes, the rib knit has a lovely texture and skims over the body without clinging.

Bamboo is a fast-growing plant that can be harvested more frequently than other trees without depleting the soil. These fabrics are Oeko-Tex Certified which means there's nothing nasty in the dyes or finishes!

Exclusive Olga Masevich Print

95% Organic Cotton, 5% Spandex

I first saw Olga's work at Volumes Bookstore in Wicker Park. Her celebration of round-bodied women in bright optimistic colors captivated me. She agreed to do this exclusive print just for Wulfka!

Super soft American-milled organic cotton french terry. Printed with organic inks by Little Cocalico, a family-owned printing facility in Pennsylvania.

Natural Dyes

Sustainable fabrics dyed with botanicals that I grew or foraged!

A very limited run of garments dyed with comfrey, marigolds, black-eyed susan leaves, and cosmos from my garden. I also forage acorns, goldenrod, walnuts, and buckthorn berries!

Colorblocked jackets are made of Oeko-Tex Certified BCI cotton and Tencel. The rib tanks are Tencel and organic cotton--companion rib to the french terry. Crop tees are hemp and organic cotton!
